Sketchbooks

 

    This is a gallery of my works on paper, a collection of both new paintings and early work.  The most recent are some pages from an illustrated book of my poetry that brings together many themes I explore in my oil painting.  This hademade book is a new approach to my continuing fascination with words and pictures. 
    Next is a small selection of watercolors from a “open air” series I created as a visual diary of my travels. 
    These are followed lastly by an early series of images with poetry that examine the nonsensical nature of our visual environment.  Some of these paintings are my first exploration into color and motifs reminiscent of oriental ink or watercolor paintings.  And others of this work are much more simple, small and powerful, revealing the spiritual through the directness of landscape and poetry.
