Angels
|
These paintings expresses
the belief that angels are present in our world and that they are here to
guide us somehow. I envision them congregating in humble places and not drawn
to great churches or the richness of our commercial world. The merit of a
wealth-centered society is a vital concern in our day and age, where money
and financial success is too often our guide. The angels convey that the
challenges we face draw us away from such fleeting fortunes and closer to
what is most important. With these themes, I find a correlation to my use
of discarded objects and exploration of value. The multidimensionality of
materials, overall image, and message reflect my aim to unveil layers of
our reality, and to acknowledge the wonder of how things are so much more
than they appear.
